To become brand new through Christ is to become brand new from within. The Spirit of God is quickened when one receives Christ. The change is an overflowing of the Holy Spirit. This power from within causes one to forgive and release harbored bitterness. Remember, Christ could have been bitter about the way he was treated by his own people, but he went to the cross anyway. Newness of life comes with self-awareness of our own need for a Savior. It will not be easy to forgive those that have hurt, abused, used and tricked us in life, that's why we have Holy Spirit strength to accomplish and maintain this, Newness. Be blessed, Pastor Darlene
